Jamie Walker, BS
Counseling Intern
Hey, I’m Jamie (she/her)! I hold a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and I’m currently an intern pursuing my master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Colorado, Denver. With over 10 years in the Army Reserves and as a newly registered yoga teacher (RYT200), I bring a diverse set of experiences to my practice.
I recognize that power, privilege, and oppression shape each of our lives uniquely. You are the expert on your own life, so my role is to support you in exploring a life that is most meaningful to you. In sessions, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to your goals and needs, including narrative therapy, gestalt therapy, play-informed therapy, somatic techniques, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I have a special interest in working with the LGBTQ+ community, children, and veterans, but everyone is welcome here. I encourage you to come as you are and embrace the process.
Outside of counseling right now, I love nurturing my small garden, hunting for unique thrift finds, reading fantasy novels, crafting, cuddling with my cat, and doing literally anything in nature.
Congratulations on taking a step to show up for yourself.
