Lauri Exley
LPCC
Hi! My name is Lauri, and I consider counseling to be about creating a space of trust and safety, where each client’s needs and goals are placed at the center of the process. In my practice, I employ a diverse set of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Brainspotting. This versatile toolkit allows me to tailor my methods to best suit the unique needs of each client and build a strong client-counselor relationship. I believe every client deserves the right to be heard and valued as an individual, and each person’s story is unique.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Adams State University and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Communication from Arizona State University. Having obtained my Master’s later in life, I use my extensive history of working with people and building relationships to make my clients feel safe, comfortable, and heard.
I specialize in working with adults who are navigating or have experienced trauma, offering a compassionate and empathetic environment for healing. By addressing complex emotional and psychological challenges, I help clients regain control, build resilience, and move forward with their lives.
Additionally, I am passionate about working with couples to strengthen their communication and relationships. Through fostering open dialogue and mutual understanding, I assist couples in resolving conflicts, enhancing emotional intimacy, and building stronger, more fulfilling partnerships.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my kids and friends, binging Netflix, hiking, reading, and playing with my puppy. I look forward to helping clients feel empowered throughout their mental wellness journey.
